How to do a side kick

I've been going to the Tat Wong Kung-Fu academy for 8 years now. I have a first degree black belt.

  Stand in a fighting position with your hands up and your legs lind as if you're about to step over.

  Align your left foot to the side and twist your waist to the other side. Lift your right leg up and bend it.

Extend your leg out and come back to your fighting position. .
